Xinglong Tropical Garden

Located at the foot of Qingmei Mountain in Xinglong Hot Spring Resort, Hainan Province, Xinglong Tropical Garden is a large-scale comprehensive scenic area that integrates nature, culture, landscaping, and ecological conservation.

Established in 1992 and covering an area of 5,800 acres, the garden includes attractions such as a botanical viewing zone, a tropical rainforest viewing zone, a biological breeding zone, a reconstructed tropical rainforest zone (celebrity tree-planting area), a horticultural viewing zone, and a forest camping zone. Currently, the garden boasts a rich diversity of flora, lush and thriving tropical rainforests, and has initially restored the local biodiversity, forming a healthy and sustainable ecological environment.

The garden is a “kingdom” of tropical plants and a treasure trove of rare and endangered species. To date, thousands of varieties of tropical ornamental plants—numbering hundreds of thousands of individual plants—have been planted here, including 65 rare and endangered species, 27 of which are listed in China’s Red Data Book of Plants. Eight rare and endangered species have been introduced and cultivated here, and many plants on the verge of extinction have been relocated, propagated, and formed stable plant communities.

Xinglong Tropical Garden is one of the world’s most ecologically intact tropical botanical gardens.
