Islamic Tomb Complex

The Islamic Tomb Complex is a cultural tourism attraction.

Located on the beach of Lingshui Bay at the border between Lingshui County and Sanya City, this tomb complex extends to Fanlingpo in Sanya, comprising over forty tombs.

During the Sui and Tang dynasties, Lingshui Bay served as a supply station along the Maritime Silk Road. There was once a Persian village where ancient Persians temporarily settled. At that time, Persians who died at sea were buried on this beach. All the tombstones face south and are generally 0.45 meters high, though some reach 0.63 meters. The tombstones are made of coral stone, with some still clearly bearing Arabic inscriptions. The remains of the Muslims were buried in trenches on the sandy shore, positioned kneeling towards the west, signifying reverence toward the Islamic paradise in the west.
