Xisha Generals' Forest

In the western part of Yongxing Island, there is a grove of swaying coconut palms — the renowned "Xisha Generals' Forest." Each tree here bears the name of the person who planted it. National leaders and over 100 generals have planted trees here.

On Yongxing Island, there are two memorial pavilions, each housing a stone stele. One is the "Naval Memorial Stele for the Recovery of the Xisha Islands," whose inscription details the historical context of the event. The other stele is the "Chinese South China Sea Islands Project Memorial Stele," erected in April 1991 by the People's Liberation Army. It is a light gray marble stele, with white lettering on the front providing a detailed account of the historical evolution and territorial area of the Xisha, Nansha, Zhongsha, and Dongsha island groups. The back features a map titled "Map of the Chinese South China Sea Islands."
