The Comrade Feng Ping Memorial Hall is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

The Comrade Feng Ping Memorial Hall is a patriotic education base in Hainan Province and a revolutionary tradition education base for Hainan’s youth. It is located in Meide Village, Donglu Town, Wenchang City. The managing authority is the Wenchang Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau.

The main entrance of the memorial hall is a “blue-brick memorial archway,” a traditional-style gate, featuring a black-lacquered wooden plaque inscribed with a plaque written by Zhang Aiping: “Comrade Feng Ping Memorial Hall.” In the center of the courtyard stands a full-body bronze statue of Feng Ping in military uniform, 2.5 meters tall, with a 1-meter-high base inscribed with “Comrade Feng Ping” by Marshal Nie Rongzhen. Behind the statue is the “Exhibition Room of Comrade Feng Ping’s Life,” inscribed by Ma Baishan. Further inside is the “Feng Ping Memorial Pavilion,” inscribed by [name missing], and deeper within lies a traditional Hainanese residential building, arranged with a central hall flanked by side rooms—this was the birthplace of Feng Ping. The outer lintel of the main entrance bears an inscription by Zhuang Tian: “Former Residence of Comrade Feng Ping.” The exhibits in the exhibition room mainly include hundreds of photos and historical materials reflecting Feng Ping’s revolutionary life, divided into text descriptions across five sections and ten aspects.

Feng Ping (1899–1928), originally named Feng Sufan and styled Maonan, later changed his name to Feng Ping after joining the revolution. He was from Meide Village, Dachang Township (now Donglu Town), Wenchang County, Hainan. He was one of the founders of the Qiongya Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army. Born on March 11, 1899, into a poor farming family, he attended the “Yumin School” in his village at age 8. After graduating from elementary school, he was admitted to Qiongya Middle School (now Qiongtai Normal School). After graduation, he studied at Shanghai Culture University, then returned to Guangzhou to attend university.
