The Ah Mei Zhaocu Vinegar and Linhua Zhaocu Vinegar stalls on Puqian Old Street are very popular, but hygiene is a concern—the practice of only changing the plastic wrap on bowls without washing them is unhygienic. Also, I tried horseshoe crab eggs, and the texture was hard to describe—like chewing wax. Zhaocu vinegar costs around 25 RMB per bowl, and horseshoe crab eggs are 30 RMB per serving.
