Bamboo Tuliang Bridge Battle Memorial Pavilion

The Bamboo Tuliang Bridge Battle Memorial Pavilion was built in July 1958. In mid-September 1942, in order to redeploy troops, the Japanese army carried out large-scale "mopping-up" and "nibbling" operations against the Qiongwen Anti-Japanese Base Area. Upon learning of this, the Second Detachment of the Qiongya Independent Column set up an ambush at Bamboo Tuliang on September 17 to attack the Japanese forces. When the Japanese military vehicles entered the ambush area, the Independent Column suddenly opened fire, launching a fierce and swift assault, swiftly concluding the battle. In less than an hour, over 40 Japanese soldiers were killed, two military vehicles were burned, two machine guns, one grenade launcher, and more than 30 rifles and other firearms were captured. The victory of this battle boosted the confidence of the entire Qiong army and populace in achieving victory in the Anti-Japanese War.
