Xiuying Beach Swimming Area

Located in the northwest of Haikou City, facing the Qiongzhou Strait, it was built in 1963. The seaside windbreak forest is lush and green, the beach is soft and white, the sea is vast, the seabed is flat with no reefs, the water flow is gentle and crystal clear, and there is no pollution. With an average annual temperature of 25°C, swimming is possible all year round. At the same time, Xiuying Swimming Area also serves as a training base for sailing and windsurfing. In 1986, it was officially designated as a national southern water sports training base. Every year, sailors and windsurfers from more than 10 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, and countries across the country gather here for training. In the early 1990s, Xiuying Beach was named one of the “Eight Scenic Spots of Haikou.” In 1992, it received over 400,000 visitors, and from 1993 to 1995, it welcomed an average of more than 100,000 visitors per year. In 1996, the beach underwent a comprehensive renovation.
