Pingle Hot Springs

Pingle Hot Springs is located 5 kilometers southwest of Yuantou Town, Pingle County, Guangxi. It was completed and opened to the public in December 1997. The hot springs are distributed along the regional Gongcheng–Yuantou fault zone. This fault zone cuts through Niutou Mountain from the north and enters the area. It passes by the foot of Bantianling Mountain and Xianjia, then continues extending southwest. In this section, the fault zone dips eastward, with Devonian sandstone, Carboniferous limestone, and Permian sandstone and shale distributed on both sides of the fault. Around Xianjia, granite porphyry dikes are exposed along the fault, and near Yuyan, hot springs emerge, forming the Pingle Hot Springs area.

The water temperature of Pingle Hot Springs ranges from 41–44°C, with an annual extractable yield of 449,000 tons. In September 1988, the hot springs passed national-level appraisal in Beijing. They are classified as calcium sulfate bicarbonate-type thermal mineral water with relatively high metasilicic acid and strontium content. Used for external bathing, they have significant therapeutic effects on skin diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, and similar conditions.

Currently, Pingle Hot Springs has reached a preliminary scale of development, featuring facilities such as a guesthouse, restaurant, dance hall, comprehensive entertainment room, and swimming pool.
