Rulin Bridge

Rulin Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected at the level of Pingle County.

Rulin Bridge is located within the former Prefectural Confucian Temple (now Zhongshan Park), also known as the "Number One Scholar Bridge." As an ancillary structure of the Prefectural Confucian Temple, it was built in the fifth year of the Xuande reign during the Ming Dynasty (1430). The bridge is arched, with a span of 3.4 meters, constructed from square bluestone blocks. The bridge deck is 6.2 meters long and 2.9 meters wide. Beneath the bridge lies a pool shaped like a crescent moon, called the "Crescent Moon Pool." The bridge deck is flanked by stone railings on both sides, as is the pool edge. The craftsmanship is exquisite. The original railings on the bridge deck have been damaged and the current railings were added later.
