Golden Ridge Scenic Area

The Golden Ridge Scenic Area is located in Tongle New District, Pingle County. The scenic area development project includes an observation pavilion, circular mountain-climbing steps, and auxiliary facilities such as pavement, greening, and lighting. The main construction project of the observation pavilion has a total investment of approximately 29.5 million yuan, with a five-story building scale.

The Golden Ridge Observation Pavilion is a high-rise classical building that combines tourism sightseeing with an exhibition venue for Pingle’s cultural and historical heritage. The ground floor is surrounded by a terrace to enhance the pavilion’s grandeur and majestic presence. The second to fifth floors are interconnected by outer corridors, with the interior used to display historical and spiritual cultural works such as relics of notable figures from various dynasties, famous poems, and paintings. The observation pavilion is constructed using modern reinforced concrete materials, built in the style of traditional timber-framed architecture from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The designed total height is 44.83 meters (including the base—3 meters), with an external structure of five stories and an internal structure of nine stories. The total floor area is 2,134.05 square meters, of which the ground floor covers 813.43 square meters.

The auxiliary project of the Golden Ridge Observation Pavilion, the Thousand-Step Stairway, has a total investment of 9.5 million yuan, is 900 meters long, and 4 meters wide. Construction began in October 2014, and the stairway includes a gatehouse, a central plaza, and four small observation pavilions. The entire project was completed in December 2015.

The completed observation pavilion is a landmark building in our county. Its functions include serving as an exhibition venue for Pingle’s cultural and historical landscapes, offering views of Pingle’s scenic beauty and the picturesque scenery of the three rivers. It plays a leading economic role in promoting and developing the local tourism industry, and is one of the major new attractions in the Sanjiangkou Cultural Tourism and Leisure Scenic Area of Pingle County. The construction of the Golden Ridge Observation Pavilion aims to promote the humanistic and historical spirit culture of Pingle County, enhancing the cultural depth of historical folklore and combining it with natural and human landscapes. It not only serves as an important means of inheriting and researching the humanistic and historical spirit culture of our county but also as a key approach to establishing and elevating Pingle as a historic and cultural city. This will help Pingle’s tourism industry quickly integrate into Guilin’s “greater tourism circle” and will play a positive leading role in promoting and developing Pingle’s tourism.
