Butterfly Island is located to the west of Qisha Town. The island’s shoreline stretches about 3.5 kilometers, featuring fine, soft sand, shallow and gentle waters. At low tide, you’ll often find unexpected little creatures on the beach. Situated near the fort area of Qisha Town in Fangchenggang, Guangxi, Butterfly Island is surrounded by sea on all sides, rich in fishery resources, and remains in a relatively pristine state. In the morning, you can walk around the island to watch the sunrise, admire the rocks, and enjoy the waves. There are many unique rock formations on the island—come and appreciate them if you’re interested. The local culture and customs here are also worth exploring. Additionally, Butterfly Ridge was the first landing site of the Japanese invasion into southwestern mainland China. Historical accounts of Chinese forces resisting Japanese troops remain here, making it an excellent location for patriotic education.

Qisha Town: Located southeast of Fangchenggang City, Qisha Town is a peninsula surrounded by sea on three sides. The southwest sea area is the main channel leading to Fangcheng Port. It borders Guangpo Town of the Port District to the north, is 32 kilometers away from the urban area by land, and lies 32 nautical miles from the coastal port of Vietnam by sea, engaging in trade with seaports across Southeast Asia. The town covers a land area of 77.2 square kilometers, comprising 12 administrative villages and 2 community neighborhood committees, with a total population of 30,000, including 17,000 urban residents. The area hosts 46 units directly under central, regional, municipal, and Port District authorities, as well as 6 military and police stationed units.
