Longma Pearl Scenic Area

The Longma Pearl Scenic Area is located at the west end of the Xiwan Cross-Sea Bridge, covering an area of 46,000 square meters. It is divided into two parts: the Longma Square and the Pearl Square. It serves as a symbol of marine culture and a totem of the blue culture. The Longma Square is semi-circular in shape, with the main white dragon horse sculpture surrounded by smaller and larger auxiliary sculptures that are vivid and magnificent. The Pearl sculpture has a diameter of 8.99 meters and a height of 11.8 meters. It is composed of a sphere made up of 236 pieces of high-quality granite, with a total weight of 236 tons. The sphere features two dragons soaring upward, full of vitality, and is hailed as the “Pearl of the Frontier.” It is one of the most beautiful, majestic, and iconic sculptures in the Beibu Gulf.

The Longma, both dragon and horse, is a symbol of national spirit in traditional Chinese culture. The Book of Documents records: “When Emperor Fuxi ruled the world, the dragon horse emerged from the river, and its markings were used to create the Eight Trigrams.” The Book of Han states: “The dragon horse is the essence of heaven and earth. In form, it is a horse with divine qualities and dragon scales, hence called the dragon horse.” The Longma symbolizes extraordinary vitality, uplifting vigor, and the great spirit of self-improvement and perseverance.

The scenic area is located at the west end of the Xiwan Cross-Sea Bridge and is divided into the Longma Square and the Pearl Square. The white dragon horse statue stands 19.93 meters tall, symbolizing the founding year of Fangchenggang in 1993. Its posture appears as if it emerges from the Xiwan Bay, guarding the port city, soaring through the clouds, and leaping across the sea. The Pearl sculpture has a diameter of 8.99 meters and a height of 11.8 meters. It is composed of a sphere made up of 236 pieces of high-quality granite, with a total weight of 236 tons.
