Shimen Valley Scenic Area is composed of the 3-kilometer-long Shimen Valley, the valley-top platform, tens of thousands of acres of pristine wilderness forest, and the north-south spanning Luohua Mountain Range. Key attractions include: Yuanling’s giant terraced fields covering over 300 acres, Sifang Lake Waterfall, Shimen Cave, Honeycomb Rock, Flying Waterfall, Map Stone, and Dongshan Forest Farm. Climbing from the valley bottom to the top along the gorge takes about three hours. Shimen Valley is rugged, awe-inspiring, and rich in oxygen ions, making it an ideal natural “oxygen bar” for those seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Ascending from the valley floor, you’ll first encounter murmuring streams and stacked strange rocks, followed by cascading water striking the rocks, sending up a dazzling array of water sprays.
