Pama Cave Scenic Area

Pama Cave Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Pama Cave is located in Ban Duan Village, Fulong Village, Xiadong Town, Longzhou County, Chongzuo City, Guangxi. It backs onto Daqing Mountain and is about 4 kilometers from the national border, covering an area of 25.8 hectares. Attractions include: Pama Cave, Liangma River, Yinma Stream, Xima Pond, and the Ancient Horse-Running Trail. Among these, Pama Cave is the most unique: its ceiling is flat, the cave walls are smooth, the interior is spacious, and it remains warm in winter and cool in summer.

Inside the cave, there are long corridors and hundreds of large and small chambers, with karst formations in countless shapes and endless illusions. Various stalactites, stalagmites, stone flowers, and stone pillars create a magnificent and spectacular ten-mile gallery. There are rugged and unusual rocks as well as clear, winding streams. The paths inside the cave twist and turn, some straight, some curved, resembling a twisting intestinal tract. Naturally formed chambers, cave halls, and recreational spaces vary in size — some can fit dozens of cars, while others could serve as gathering places for a thousand people.

Outside the cave is like an exquisitely detailed painting in the style of southern Chinese brushwork, with a strong sense of depth. The fine brushstrokes, delicate beauty, pale green washes, and bright, elegant tones truly convey the charm of the water towns in the southern borderlands. Small bridges over flowing streams and the frontier scenery allow you to discover a different kind of beauty in the southern border region and take unique photos for your social media.

In addition, Xiadong Town is also one of the revolutionary bases in the Zuojiang area, with many historical sites that record thrilling stories and legends. It is said that during the Qing Dynasty, thousands of troops camped in the caves of Ban Duan Village, Fulong Village, Xiadong Town, leaving behind this naturally mysterious karst cave. It was named Pama Cave (Horse-Running Cave) because the cavern is so spacious that horses could run inside it.

Route Guide

[Public Transport]:

You can take a bus from the county town to Xiadong Town, get off at the Xiadong Town Government, and then transfer to a minivan to reach the site. The journey takes about 1 hour.

[Self-Drive]:

Starting from the county town, follow Provincial Highway 319 to the Jiaokan Border Checkpoint, then head in the direction of Xiadong. The entire trip takes about 40 minutes.
