The Former Command Post of General Chen Geng During the Vietnam Border Campaign is a Longzhou County cultural relics protection unit and a classic red tourism destination.

The Former Command Post of General Chen Geng During the Vietnam Border Campaign is located at No. 017, Jiangxiang Tun, Bujui Village, Xiadong Town, Longzhou County. This building faces northeast and is situated southwest, featuring a two-bay, two-story tiled house with a through-tenon structure. It is 5.83 meters wide, 10 meters deep, and covers a floor area of 116.6 square meters. In late January 1950, President Ho Chi Minh secretly visited China to request assistance. Chairman Mao Zedong of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee made the major decision to provide comprehensive aid to Vietnam. In July 1950, General Chen Geng entered Vietnam to assist the Vietnamese People’s Army in organizing and commanding the Border Campaign to clear enemy forces along the border and open up a land route between China and Vietnam. General Chen Geng, together with President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese military staff headquarters, repeatedly studied battle plans and directed combat operations here, leading to the victory of the Border Campaign. On May 4, 2012, it was designated as a Longzhou County-level cultural relics protection unit.

A native of Xiangxiang County (now Xiangxiang City), Hunan Province, originally named Chen Shukang, he was born on February 27, 1903, into a well-off family in Liushupu, Erdu, Xiangxiang County. Influenced from childhood by his grandfather, a military man, he developed the aspiration of “strengthening the nation and its military.” In 1916, he joined the Xiang Army and served for four years.
