The Mianjiang Huashan Rock Cave Burial is situated about 700 meters south of Fuhe Village, Mianjiang Village, Xiangshui Town, Longzhou County, directly below the fourth section of the Mianjiang Huashan Rock Paintings. The cave entrance faces north, and inside, there are only three incomplete wooden coffins. These coffins measure approximately 1.8 meters in length and 90 to 120 centimeters in width. The identities of the deceased are unknown; no skeletal remains or burial objects were found within the coffins. The upper and lower sections of the coffins feature a mortise-and-tenon joint design, and both ends of the coffins are carved into symmetrical ox-horn-shaped flat wooden angles. Small holes are drilled at the base of each horn, where wooden pegs are inserted to secure the upper and lower sections into a single unit. This design is quite unique and distinctive. Carbon-14 dating conducted by the Guilin Karst Research Institute of the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources indicates that the coffins date back 1,512 years, corresponding to the Jin Dynasty or the Southern Dynasties period. This cultural site was newly discovered during the second national cultural relics survey and has not yet had its protected area or construction control zone officially designated or announced.
