Dushan Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Dushan, also known as Duxiu Peak, is less than a 10-minute drive from Longzhou City. It is one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Longzhou, famed as "Autumn Dawn at Golden Rooster." As a national AAA-level scenic area, Dushan owes its reputation largely to the Wenbi Pagoda. According to the Annals of Longzhou County, “The Wenbi Pagoda is located about five li east of the city, built by Observer Cai Zhongqi.” Legend has it that during the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty, there were few scholars and even fewer learned individuals in Longzhou, because the area had only a “pen holder” but no “pen.” The construction of the Wenbi Pagoda served as the “pen,” standing atop Dushan, which resembles an “inkstone,” and echoing the distant “Pen Holder Mountain” to the southeast. Together, they formed a cultural continuum of “pen,” “inkstone,” and “pen holder,” symbolizing the hope for nurturing more talent. The Dushan Scenic Area is well known for its beautiful peaks, peculiar rocks, and exquisite stone formations. It is a tourist destination that combines eco-friendly leisure sightseeing with traditional Chinese cultural experiences. Each step in the scenic area symbolizes the journey of learning—like climbing a mountain—one must persevere without giving up halfway to reach the summit. It allows visitors to experience success and pursue their dreams while exploring.
