Since ancient times, many beautiful legends and touching stories have been passed down here. The landscape and cultural gardens—Shun Di Mountain’s beautiful natural scenery and diverse cultural heritage form a vivid and enchanting picture that attracts visitors from all over. Also known as Shun Di Yuan, it is located at the southern end of Shun Du Avenue, the main street in the urban area of Yongji City, Yuncheng, Shanxi Province—the hometown of Emperor Shun. It belongs to one of the mountain ranges of the southern section of the Zhongtiao Mountains, the Li Shan range. It earned its name because it is said to have been the starting point of Emperor Shun’s journey to becoming an emperor and a place he frequently frequented. It has also gained fame worldwide due to the profound richness of Shun culture. The Shun Di Mountain Scenic Area mainly includes: Xian Tian Gu Valley Scenic Area, Hu Wang Shan Scenic Area, and Shun Huang Ding Scenic Area (currently closed).
