Xiangshui Waterfall

Located at a shoal on the Luoqing River near Dazhao Village in Zhongdu Town, the Xiangshui Waterfall features surging waters that rush down with a thunderous roar—distantly resembling thunder, and up close like the beat of drums. This sound persists year-round, hence the name “Xiangshui” (Resounding Water). At the shoal, the rapid flow of water is majestic and powerful; below the shoal, rolling waves resemble tens of thousands of lotus flowers drifting on the water, vying in beauty and brilliance. The poet Zhou Shuliang from Guilin once inscribed on the cliff: “Layered lotuses churn the waves, gleaming like snow; myriad valleys roar like thunder as soldiers march to battle.” Not far from the shoal lies another waterfall, where water droplets splash and silver light sparkles, creating an exceptionally spectacular sight.
