The Mulong River Rafting in Lagou Township is located within the Mulong Village of Lagou Township, which is part of a provincial-level public welfare forest reserve. The rafting course spans 7.5 kilometers, with a riverbed width ranging from 5 to 30 meters and an average flow rate of 10 cubic meters per second. The riverbanks are picturesque, the water is crystal clear, and the rapids and shoals are abundant. Endless primeval forests tower with ancient trees, and vast bamboo groves thrive here, earning it the reputation of a “natural oxygen bar.”

The bird nature reserve, along with its forests, birds, and fish, form the “three primary elements” of Lagou Township’s pristine ecosystem. With 340,000 mu of forestland — including 180,000 mu of public welfare forest — and a forest coverage rate of 86.23%, the mountains of Lagou Township are lushly green, making it a true natural oxygen bar. In 1982, the autonomous region designated two villages in Lagou Township, Mulong and Daping, as bird protection zones and established three migratory bird monitoring stations. Key protected bird species include the Lady Amherst's pheasant. Today, the forests of Lagou Township are home to a variety of wildlife such as wild boar, kalij pheasants, masked palm civets, and squirrels. The reserve also boasts precious tree species like nanmu, camphor, rosewood, and red sandalwood. The Mulong River and Napan River in Lagou Township are now paradises for fish.
