Longnv Gully is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Longnv Gully Scenic Area (a national AAAA-level tourist attraction) is one of the primary tourist sites in Rongshui Miao Autonomous County. It is situated in Siron Township in the northwest of the county, on the southwestern side of Yuanbao Mountain, which rises over 2,086 meters above sea level. As a national AAAA-level scenic area, it is also recognized as an agricultural tourism demonstration site for the whole region, one of Liuzhou’s Top Ten Most Beautiful Villages, and a self-drive campsite for Rongshui. It is a ethnic culture-themed scenic area that combines natural landscapes with cultural attractions. The Rong–Qian Highway trunk road runs through the area, and it is just 50 kilometers by car from Rongshui County town.

The scenic area is home to ethnic minority groups such as the Miao and Dong peoples. It features ancient and unique wooden houses, distinctive ethnic customs, and a rich traditional atmosphere. Within the tourist zone, ancient trees thrive, peculiar rocks dot the landscape, mountain springs murmur, waterfalls cascade, and crystal-clear pools glimmer—creating an exquisitely serene environment. Major attractions include Longnv Pool, Moon Pool, Twin Dragons Cave, Dragon Gate, Longnv Waterfall, reservoir scenery, a thousand-year-old ancient village, a natural swimming pool, Miao terraced fields, azalea seas, the Red Army Bridge, the Red Army Pavilion, Twin Arrows Waterfall, and the Miao Mountain Rainbow Suspension Bridge. The local village of Guixiu Tun in Rongdi is an ancient new Dong village. The ancestors of the Guixiu Dong people migrated here from Hunan 400 years ago. During the democratic revolution period (in the 1930s), they twice welcomed and saw off the Seventh Red Army of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army, led by Deng Xiaoping, on its march northward to join the Central Red Army. To this day, the Red Army Bridge, once used by the Red Army during its march through the area, remains preserved within the Longnv Gully Scenic Area.

In accordance with the decisions of the Autonomous Region Party Committee and the Autonomous Region People’s Government regarding accelerating the leapfrog development of tourism, and in line with relevant documents on creating distinctive tourism features, Rongshui was designated in 2013 as one of Guangxi’s first 20 counties tasked with establishing itself as a distinctive tourism county. Centering around the tourism development positioning of “Beautiful Rongshui · Ethnic Miao Culture,” and implementing the directive given by Secretary Zheng Junkang during his inspection tour of Rongshui—“to achieve city-county coordination and create a golden tourism belt that showcases the diverse tourism resources of Liuzhou”—the county strengthened government-led initiatives. It advanced the development of the Longnv Gully Scenic Area as one of the county’s “Top Ten Tourism Projects,” and repositioned it as a key attraction along the Yuanbao Mountain–Beijiang Scenic Belt. The project secured over 10 million yuan in central budget investment funds to construct large-scale supporting facilities in the scenic area, including a major parking lot, a reception center, and a sightseeing dock. Within the touring zone, pedestrian walkways along the Longnv Gully banks were renovated, and additional infrastructure such as viewing platforms, rest chairs, waterside terraces, and pavilions were added.

Here, visitors can sample ethnic flavors and experience folk activities such as making oil tea, barbecuing, and visiting neighboring villages for socializing. The scenic area offers a range of tourism services including dining, accommodation, and sightseeing.
