Longbao Grand Canyon

Longbao Grand Canyon is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Longbao Grand Canyon Scenic Area is located in Xiaodongjiang Village, Dongtian Village, Sirong Township, Rongshui Miao Autonomous County, on the southern foothills of Yuanbao Mountain, about 42 kilometers from downtown Rongshui. The area features stunning natural landscapes and a serene atmosphere. The Dulong River, an upper tributary of the Bei River, runs through it. Along the banks are countless huge and unusual rocks that form a captivating scene, while various pristine and unique landforms remain well preserved. It was rated as a national AAA-level scenic area in 2015.

Major attractions include: the steep and spectacular canyon, the shy Seven Dragons Waterfall, the swimming paradise of Immortal Beach, the beautiful and mysterious Morning Light of the Miao Mountains, the marvelously carved canyon rocks, the Dragon Cave that dries up when it rains but fills up during droughts, the Alsophila Valley—home to tree ferns from the dinosaur era that still thrive today, the largest wild banana grove at the foot of Yuanbao Mountain, the Broken River Beach where the river suddenly disappears, the Bear-Clamping Gorge believed to protect the elderly, a century-old Blessing Tree, the massive Longbao Rock spanning the size of a small soccer field, and the Longbao Boulder that only those with fate can rotate—among over ten uniquely beautiful and diverse scenic spots.

Here you can enjoy the cool comfort of natural swimming pools, watch vibrant ethnic song and dance performances, and taste local specialties and wild foods. With thousands of acres of primeval forests and undulating bamboo seas, the area has a forest coverage rate of over 90%, making it a rare natural oxygen bar—a perfect destination for travel and vacation.

The environment is peaceful and picturesque, featuring idyllic rural scenery with bamboo forests, terraced fields, small rivers, and canyons; there are ancient trees, peculiar rocks, shallow beaches, and deep pools, creating an exceptionally beautiful setting. The area offers wide exploration opportunities and rich activities. The scenic zone spans 5 square kilometers, where visitors can enjoy traditional Miao farm meals and drink Chongyang wine; watch Miao ethnic performances with lusheng music and the thrilling "climbing the blade mountain" show; stroll through bamboo forests and terraces; take part in water activities such as swimming in the small river or fishing with nets; explore the rock beach; or visit nearby villages to experience rural life, such as helping with rice harvesting or catching flower carp.
