Hezhou Museum

Hezhou Museum is a comprehensive humanities museum that collects, studies, and displays historical relics, ethnic and folk cultural artifacts, revolutionary relics, and commemorative items within Hezhou’s territory. The museum boasts an exceptionally rich collection of historical artifacts, ranging from Mesozoic vertebrate fossils to relics from the late Qing Dynasty — a timespan of nearly three million years, with continuous contributions from different eras. Among the ethnic and folk cultural artifacts, those from the Yao ethnic group predominate, along with others that hold unique cultural significance, fully reflecting the local customs and traditions of Hezhou. The revolutionary relics section spans from the Taiping Rebellion to the founding of the People’s Republic of China, bearing witness to the brave and self-sacrificing spirit of Hezhou’s people during the revolutionary era.
