The Nanyangzhuang Yangshao Culture Site is located on the northern hills northwest of Nanyangzhuang Village, southeast of the county town. Locals refer to it as "Crouching Dragon Hill," and it boasts rich cultural content. From May 1980 to July 1981, it was comprehensively excavated by the Hebei Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics, covering an area of 2,140 square meters. The unearthed artifacts include stone, pottery, bone, and shell tools, totaling 1,700 pieces. Most of the pottery items are painted red, with the majority of decorations featuring parallel vertical lines, diagonal lines, and net-like patterns, as well as hook-shaped motifs and geometric designs composed of triangles and parallel curves. Pottery classified as belonging to the "Miaodigou" type features black-painted designs of dots and three parallel lines. The site contains three cultural layers: the uppermost layer belongs to the "Miaodigou" type; the middle layer belongs to the "Nanyangzhuang" type (contemporary with the Hougang type); and the lowest layer belongs to the newly identified "Early Nanyangzhuang" type in the field of Chinese archaeology. Unearthed artifacts also include pottery stands, pottery stoves, and stone grinding plates.

Among the unearthed relics are three glazed ceramic shards. Authenticated by the China Building Materials Academy, they are identified as primitive porcelain fragments from the Yangshao Culture period. Two pottery silkworm pupae were also found, which insect experts from the Institute of Zoology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences confirmed to be fired domestic silkworm pupae.

The precise age of the site has been tested twice by relevant personnel at Peking University, yielding results of 5080±100 years and 5400±70 years respectively.
