In 2002, 740,000 yuan was invested to carry out green, bright, and beautification upgrades for the square. After the renovation, the cultural palace has a building area of 4,823 square meters and a square area of 11,850 square meters, making it a top-tier workers' cultural palace at the county level in Hebei Province. The cultural palace currently has 15 staff members. It houses a workers’ activity room, workers’ classroom, law firm, labor arbitration tribunal, senior cadres’ activity room, children’s art training school, job placement office, and re-employment training center. The training center includes four courses: clothing tailoring, leather clothing production, hairdressing and beauty, and computer operation.

Over the years, under the leadership and support of the municipal Party committee and higher-level trade unions, the cultural palace has adhered to the purpose of serving workers and grassroots trade unions, and followed the principles of reform and revitalization. It has continuously enriched its activities and strived to make the cultural palace a “school and paradise” for workers. In addition, the cultural palace square has become a hub for citizens to relax, exercise, and engage in various activities. The annual Colorful Weekend cultural events have become a cultural highlight for residents in the summer. In the evenings and at dawn, hundreds of participants gather in the square to dance and perform, creating a lively atmosphere. This has played a positive role in promoting spiritual civilization and has been well received by the general public. The cultural palace has been awarded the title of Advanced Unit in Spiritual Civilization Construction by the municipal Party committee and government for consecutive years. In 1999, it was honored as an “Advanced Unit in Workers’ Cultural Work” by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and in 1993, it was recognized as an Advanced Workers’ Cultural Palace by the provincial trade union.
