Temple of Huaxu

The Temple of Huaxu is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Temple of Huaxu is located within the Fuxi Cultural City in Xinle City, Hebei Province.

The Temple of Huaxu, under the guidance of the Hebei Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau and its ancient architecture experts, was reconstructed in 2003 (Huaxu is said to be the mother of Fuxi in legend, who became pregnant after stepping on the giant footprint in Thunder Lake, thereby giving birth to Fuxi. It is also said that the Thunder God is Fuxi’s father. Locals refer to the Temple of Huaxu as the Old Mother Hall). It features a three-bay width, one-bay depth, an overall width of 13 meters, an overall depth of 6.9 meters, and an overall height of 7.55 meters. The building has a hip-and-gable roof covered with blue tiles, with five-panel latticed doors on the central front bay and lattice windows on the side bays. The temple platform is elevated by a nine-step staircase, harmoniously integrating with the third-tiered Palace of Rest and the yet-to-be-reconstructed Eastern and Western Side Halls, creating an orderly and aesthetically pleasing layered structure.

Address: Southeast corner of Hejiazhuang Village, 2 kilometers north of Xinle urban area.

Transportation: By car, take the Beijing–Shenzhen Expressway, exit at Xinle, head west along the East Ring Road, then turn north. Pass the Beijing–Guangzhou Railway and Wujiazhuang Village, then go north along Fuxi Road to reach the site. Directional signs to Fuxi Terrace are available within Xinle urban area. Alternatively, take a train to Xinle Station and transfer to a local bus to get there.
