Dragon Master Hall

The Dragon Master Hall is one of the structures within the Fuxi Terrace. In 1994

it was approved by the Hebei Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau to be rebuilt on its original site. The hall features a width of three bays and a depth of one bay, surrounded by an octagonal corridor, and is a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof structure covered with green glazed tiles. It has a total width of 18.45 meters, a total depth of 15.5 meters, and a total height of 13

meters. The first floor has an irregular octagonal plan, corresponding to the Earlier Heaven Bagua invented by Fuxi. The column base stones of the hall come in three styles: the two at the front eaves of the central bay feature lotus petal designs, with carved stone lions playing with embroidered balls beneath the front petals; the two at the side bays have small petal designs; and the remaining, non-visible column bases within the walls are plain and flat. The beam structure consists of a seven-rafter beam with double-step beams in the front and back. The lower eave corridor steps are arranged in a Bagua pattern, using single and double step beams that directly insert into the hall’s columns. The first-floor eaves are adorned with single-knocked single-rising five-cue bracket sets, with decorative patterns filling most spaces; the upper eaves are similarly decorated, with dense patterns filling the spaces. The rafters, purlins, and ceiling panels are arranged in patterns that correspond to the architectural function. The ridge is 200 millimeters high, with a treasure top placed at the center of the main ridge, and all ridges are decorated with carved patterns and mythical animal ornaments. The front central and side bays, as well as the rear central bay, feature four-panel doors with five-piece mullions, featuring diagonal lattice panels for the central inserts. Above the middle rail are diagonal lattice transom windows and paneling. The painted decoration imitates the Ming Dynasty's small gold-speckled style, with the eave brackets and ceiling painted with Taiji and Earlier Heaven Bagua motifs, harmonizing with the building's symbolic nature.

Address: Located 2 kilometers north of Xinle City in Hedong Village, east of Hejiazhuang Village, and north of Wujiazhuang Village.

Transportation: By car, take the Beijing–Shenzhen Expressway, exit at Xinle, head west along the East Ring Road, then turn north. Pass the Beijing–Guangzhou Railway and Wujiazhuang Village, then continue north along Fuxi Road to reach the site. Directional signs to Fuxi Terrace are available within Xinle city.
