The Wang Family Courtyard in Tianchang Ancient City is a cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.

Jingxing residences are known for their sturdiness, and the local residential culture is highly distinctive. The courtyard houses formed over the dynasties differ in architectural style from those in Beijing—main rooms are higher than wing rooms, and east rooms are higher than west rooms. They are categorized into hall-style courtyards, linked courtyards, nested courtyards, and three-tiered courtyards situated on elevated ground. The most typical example is the Wang Family Courtyard in Tianchang Ancient City, covering an area of over 20 acres with nearly 100 rooms. The interconnected courtyard suites form a maze-like architectural complex.
