Shigu Temple

Shigu Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Shigu Temple is located on Xingshan Mountain, 25 kilometers northwest of Jingxing County. The scenic area covers 10 square kilometers and is said to have been a hunting ground for King Mu of Zhou in ancient times. One stone drum remains at the temple today, which is believed to have been carved from the stone used by Nüwa to mend the heavens. In the fifth year of the Zhenguan era, the drum reportedly sounded on its own without being struck, startling the emperor into making a royal visit.

The area is covered with lush forests and boasts picturesque scenery all year round. Ancient visitors once praised it with the words: “A hundred miles of mountains, a hundred miles of scenery; with every step and stair, poetry fills the hills.”
