Former Site of the Plaque Gifted by Zhu De
The “Plaque Gifted by Zhu De” site is the ancestral hall of the Zhu family in Jinjiang Village, Rucheng County. In 2013, the Zhu family ancestral hall in Jinjiang Village was listed as part of the seventh batch of Major National Historical and Cultural Sites.
From November to December 1927, Zhu De stayed at the Zhu family ancestral hall. On December 9, Zhu De and Chen Yi were ordered to lead their troops southward to reinforce the Guangzhou Uprising. To express gratitude for the selfless and fearless support from the people of Jinjiang and to boost the morale of the masses, they had a plaque made overnight and personally inscribed it with the bold characters “世界一家” (One World, One Family).
