The Nuanshui Kiln Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Hunan Province.

A Yuan Dynasty kiln site. It is located in the area around Triangle Garden, Renqiantou, and Shangjiang Village Fangyuanjiao in Xiayou Village on the northwestern bank of the Ou River in Nuanshui Town, Rucheng County, covering an area of approximately two square kilometers. This site is known for its abundant production of white plaster clay. Kiln furniture was commonly made from porcelain clay, resulting in fine-textured bodies with a color that is white with a slight grayish hue. The glaze color falls between celadon and black porcelain, leaning closer to a brownish-yellow tone. The vessel shapes include small bowls, jars, vats, pots, and bowls. Most were fired using ring supports stacked together, while a few used spur marks. Some fragments of bowls bear stamped characters, including "Tai," "Ji," "Quan," "Jinyu," "Fo," "Wen," "Zhai," "Tang," "Niansi," "Shier," "Song," "Dasan," "Daji," "Cao," "Chengzhan," "Longquan," and "Feng." Some also feature stamps resembling the Phags-pa script of Mongolian. The design of the lotus bowl is similar to those from the Longquan Kiln. The site’s production may date back to the Song Dynasty, but most artifacts are from the Yuan Dynasty.

Nuanshui Town: Nuanshui Town and Tianzhuang Township have been administratively merged to form Nuanshui Town.

A town under the jurisdiction of Rucheng County. In 1949, it was part of the Fourth District; in 1956, Nuanshui Township was established; in 1958, it was placed under Tianzhuang Commune; in 1961, it became Nuanshui Commune; in 1984, it reverted to township status; and in 1995, it was upgraded to a town. Located in the northern part of the county, it is 13 kilometers from the county seat and covers an area of 81 square kilometers, with a population of 12,000. The town government is stationed in Nuanshui Market. National Highway 106 passes through here.
