Tomb of Song Shenxi

The Tomb of Song Shenxi is a cultural heritage protection unit of Chenzhou City.

The Tomb of Song Shenxi is located in Shankou Village, Yongfeng Township, Rucheng County, dating back to the Tang Dynasty.

In 2012, the Tomb of Song Shenxi was designated by the Chenzhou Municipal People's Government as part of the third batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units.

The protected area: starting from the outer edge of the tomb, extending 30 meters in all four directions.

The construction control zone: extending 50 meters beyond the protected area in all four directions.

Song Shenxi (760 AD – August 13, 834 AD), courtesy name Qingchen, was a native of Shitang, Quanshui Township, Rucheng County, present-day Hunan Province (the former site of Yichang County government during the Tang Dynasty). He was born in 760 AD. In the third year of the Baoli era (826 AD), he served as an Outer Secretary of the Ministry of Rites, was promoted to an Imperial Secretariat Drafter and Hanlin Academician in 828 AD, and became a Chancellor (Chief Minister) in 830 AD as Tong Zhongshu Menxia Pingzhangshi. He died in exile in Kaizhou in 834 AD, and in 836 AD, an imperial decree posthumously restored his position as Vice Minister of War and Chancellor, granting him the title of Minister of War and the posthumous name Wen Yi.

Yongfeng Township: Yongfeng Township and Tuqiao Town were merged to form the new Tuqiao Town.

A township under the jurisdiction of Rucheng County. In 1949, it belonged to Renhe District, in 1950 to the Fifth District, in 1956 Yongfeng Township was established, in 1958 it was changed to Yongfeng Commune, and in 1984 it reverted to a township. It is located in the northeastern part of the county, 10 kilometers from the county seat, covering an area of 90 square kilometers with a population of 13,000.
