Bedroom Palace

The Bedroom Palace is one of the structures on Fuxi Terrace. It was reconstructed in 1994 with approval from the Hebei Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau, and is connected to the raised platform of the Dragon Teachers’ Hall. The Bedroom Palace has a width of three bays and a depth of one bay, featuring a single-eave hip-and-gable roof covered with green glazed tiles. It spans a total width of 12.98 meters, a total depth of 8.18 meters, and a total height of 7.76 meters. The beam-frame structure consists of two columns, seven purlins, and seven-tier beams.

The eaves are adorned with single-ang three-step bracket sets, arranged in an orderly manner. The ang brackets are supported by bracket arms extending from the purlins, while the rafters are supported by bracket arms extending from the eave purlins. The central bracket arms on the purlin level extend outward to support the rafter ends. The main ang brackets are made of Phoebe nanmu wood from the Ming Dynasty, while the secondary ones are crafted from local elm wood. The upper and lower layers of ang brackets share similar decorative carvings.

Address: Located 2 kilometers north of Xinle City, to the east of Hejiazhuang Village and north of Wujiazhuang Village.

Transportation: By car, take the Beijing–Shenzhen Expressway, exit at Xinle, head west along the East Ring Road, then turn north. Pass the Beijing–Guangzhou Railway and Wujiazhuang Village, then continue north along Fuxi Road to reach the site. Directional signs to Fuxi Terrace are available within Xinle city.
