Zhao Tuo Park is situated in Zhaolingpu, Xinhua District, Shijiazhuang City. It lies to the west of Zhaolingpu Street, to the north of Zhao Tuo Road, to the east of farmland, and is bordered to the south by an earthen road leading into the fields. The park extends 253 meters from east to west and 211 meters from north to south, occupying a total site area of 5.33 hectares. Zhao Tuo was an exceptional historical figure who appeared over two thousand years ago in Shijiazhuang and was hailed by Mao Zedong as "the first cadre to go south." To promote national culture and unearth historical heritage, the government invested over 30 million yuan. Constructed by the Shijiazhuang Municipal Bureau of Parks and Gardens, the project commenced in early 2004 and officially opened to the public on May 1, 2006.

In the fourth year of Emperor Wu of Han's Jianyuan era (137 BC), King Zhao Tuo of Nanyue passed away at the age of around 100 and was buried in Panyu (present-day Guangzhou). The ancestral tomb of Zhao Tuo, built by Emperor Wen of Han, Liu Heng, is located in Zhaolingpu Town, Xinhua District, Shijiazhuang City. It was renovated in 2006 to become Zhao Tuo Park. As the city’s first commemorative park with a focus on humanistic history, it is nestled among lush pines, cypresses, green trees, and blooming flowers. With its majestic presence, profound cultural heritage, and tranquil, elegant natural surroundings, the park attracts many visitors seeking to explore their roots and delve into history.

Zhao Tuo ( ? – 137 BC) was a renowned patriotic general during the Qin and Han dynasties, hailing from Zhending (present-day Zhengding). He was one of the earliest Qin generals in Chinese history to establish governance over Hong Kong, Macau, and the Lingnan region, making outstanding contributions to maintaining unity and ethnic solidarity in minority areas.
