The Iron Lion is a cultural relic protected at the provincial level in Hebei Province.

During the Japanese invasion of China, the temple originally guarded by the Iron Lion was demolished and rebuilt as a Japanese military facility (No. 1), used to house Japanese soldiers who died during the war. After Japan's surrender, the site became the North China Military Region Martyrs' Cemetery, erasing all original structures, leaving only a pair of Iron Lions.
