Heishan Grand Canyon is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Heishan Pass Scenic Area is located deep in the Taihang Mountains, in the northwest of Pingshan County, bordering Wutai County in Shanxi Province. It is 120 kilometers from Shijiazhuang City and got its name from the Great Wall built during the Ming Dynasty and the pass established here. The scenic area consists of over 20 attractions, including the Service Area, Longtan Waterfall Zone, Dongtian Area, Muke Fort, Hongmen Rock, and the Primeval Forest, covering an area of approximately 16 square kilometers.

The Heishan Pass boasts unique natural landscapes. Its main peak, Chaituojian, rises 1,910 meters above sea level, and there are 13 other peaks over 1,000 meters high, presenting a majestic and precipitous spectacle.

The Heishan Pass Scenic Area is home to thousands of plant species. Trees such as keelwood and snake willow are under national key protection. A wild kiwi vine covers an area of over 10,000 square meters. Wild azaleas, roses, lilacs, and globeflowers dot the mountainsides. Additionally, there are more than 50 types of medicinal herbs, including skullcap, dahurian angelica, platycodon, codonopsis, bletilla, bupleurum, raw hemp, smilax, and dodder. The area also hosts around 20 animal species, such as hares, goats, roe deer, martens, pheasants, and orioles.

The Heishan Pass has abundant water resources. Mountain springs gush out at an altitude of 1,800 meters, cascading down cliffs and valleys over a stretch of more than 10 li, forming numerous pools and waterfalls. Among them, the White Dragon Waterfall is over 100 meters high, appearing like a white silk thread from afar and a magnificent waterfall up close.

The Heishan Pass enjoys a serene environment and pleasant climate, with an average summer temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. Visitors can wear light clothing during the day and warm layers at night, without needing mosquito nets or fans. It is an ideal destination for summer retreats and leisure vacations.
