Hebei Garden Expo Park is located at the center of the main axis in Zhengding New District, Shijiazhuang City, 3.2 kilometers south of the Hutuo River and 1.5 kilometers west of Zhengding County. Covering an area of approximately 1,200 acres, the park is divided into seven functional zones, namely the Main Entrance Plaza, Yan Zhao Garden, Social Garden, Specialized Garden, Health & Fitness Garden, Waterfront Scenic Area, and Mountain Leisure Area.

Entering from the East Gate, visitors first encounter a plaza of over 2,000 square meters — the Main Entrance Plaza. Its ground is paved with embedded railway tracks, vividly showcasing the urban development roots of Shijiazhuang. This area will serve as a venue for visitors to gather, wait, and purchase tickets, and it is also where the opening ceremony of the First Hebei Garden Expo will be held.

To the east of the Main Entrance Plaza lies an artificial lake. In the lake stands a massive fountain, 128 meters long and 10 meters wide, capable of shooting water jets up to 100 meters high. It can be used to screen water screen movies, featuring world-class technology. During the Expo, more than 30 electric sightseeing boats will be available on the lake for visitors to enjoy the scenery.

On the north side of the Garden Expo Park lies Yan Zhao Garden, where 11 cities have each built an exhibition garden arranged from east to west. Among them, the Shijiazhuang Garden is the largest, covering an area of over 10,000 square meters. Highlights include “Xibaipo” in the Shijiazhuang Garden, “Hu Fu Qi She” (Riding in Hu Dress) in the Handan Garden, “Imperial Garden” in the Chengde Garden, and “Sailboat” in the Cangzhou Garden, all reflecting their unique cultural characteristics and garden artistry.

In addition to the outdoor gardens and landscapes, a large indoor Main Exhibition Hall stands on the eastern side of the Garden Expo Park. The hall is diamond-shaped, with two floors and a total floor area of 20,000 square meters. The first-floor exhibition area is organized by the 11 cities, showcasing their recent achievements in garden construction. The second-floor exhibition area is open to society, featuring displays and exhibitions organized by various professional associations, including fine art shows of potted plants, stone appreciation, root carvings, as well as landscape painting, photography art, and garden machinery exhibitions.

The 11 gardens are divided by the main road near the North Gate and are distributed on both the eastern and western sides. On the eastern side of the North Gate are the Qinhuangdao Garden, Chengde Garden, Zhangjiakou Garden, Baoding Garden, Tangshan Garden, and Cangzhou Garden. On the western side are the Xingtai Garden, Shijiazhuang Garden, Handan Garden, Hengshui Garden, and Langfang Garden.

East Gate

Main Entrance Plaza: Enter from the East Gate of the Garden Expo Park via Zhengding New City Avenue. The plaza covers an area of 5 hectares and will host the opening ceremony. It serves as the ticketing area for visitors and features a railway-track embedded pavement that showcases the urban development history of Shijiazhuang.

Diamond-Shaped Main Exhibition Hall: This will be a highlight architectural structure of the Garden Expo Park. Covering an area of 12 hectares, it serves as the core exhibition zone where the 11 prefecture-level cities each build a sub-garden reflecting their unique cultural characteristics and garden art. The exterior of the hall is orange-yellow, shaped like a five-pointed star resembling a diamond.

Four Themed Zones: Rich in Content, Each with Distinct Features

The layout of the Garden Expo Park mainly consists of four zones: the Yan Zhao Zone, Social Zone, Specialized Zone, and Health & Fitness Zone, each rich in content and with its own unique features.

Yan Zhao Zone: Eleven Cities Showcase Gardening Art

Yan Zhao Zone: Located on the north side of the Garden Expo Park, this 12-hectare zone features gardens built by 11 cities in Hebei Province, each demonstrating the unique gardening artistry of their respective regions.

Social Zone: Low-Carbon, Environmentally Friendly, and Educational

Social Zone: Located in the northwest corner of the Garden Expo Park, this 4-hectare zone includes a Bird Island, National Defense Garden, Green Community, and large-scale floral greenhouse.

Specialized Zone: Strong Scientific and Educational Atmosphere

Specialized Zone: Situated in the southwest corner of the Garden Expo Park, this 3-hectare zone includes a Medicinal Plant Garden and a Horticultural Garden.

The Medicinal Plant Garden mainly displays traditional Chinese medicinal plants and promotes knowledge of Chinese herbal medicine. The Horticultural Garden showcases green landscapes such as specialty fruits and local vegetables, providing a great place for leisure, entertainment, fruit picking, and educational experiences.

Health & Fitness Zone: A Great Place for Exercise

Health & Fitness Zone: Located in the southeast corner of the Garden Expo Park, it is built to the standards of a Hebei sports park and includes a variety of sports facilities such as table tennis, badminton, basketball, and tennis courts. Once completed, it will function as a full-fledged sports park.
