Lingshou Qiushan Scenic Area

Lingshou Qiushan Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Qiushan Pristine Natural Scenic Area is located in Lingshou County, Hebei Province. It borders Yanchuan Reservoir to the east, the Tenglong Mountain Scenic Area to the west, Hengshan Lake Tourist Resort to the north, and Xiaguan Reservoir to the south. It is 60 kilometers from the provincial capital Shijiazhuang, 30 kilometers from Lingshou County, 30 kilometers from Pingshan County to the south, and 35 kilometers from the revolutionary site of Xibaipo to the west. This is a high-end pristine natural scenic area that integrates geological landscapes, forest ecology, and cultural-historical attractions, covering an area of 8 square kilometers. The Qiushan Scenic Area boasts distinct resource advantages: green mountains, lush forests, unique rocks, crystal-clear waters, cool summers, blooming autumn flowers, winter snow, and icefalls. Relying on its forest ecology and geological formations, it presents a primitive ecological environment characterized by wonder, danger, coolness, wilderness, and seclusion.

The Qiushan Scenic Area has a warm temperate semi-humid continental climate. Due to its location surrounded by water on three sides and significant elevation differences, the mountain climate is quite pronounced, featuring relatively low average temperatures, abundant precipitation, and low accumulated warmth. The average temperature at the foot of the mountain is around 11°C, while at the summit it is 5–6°C. In the hottest month of July, the average temperature at the foot is 24°C and around 20°C at the top, making the summer cool and pleasant. With its high mountains and deep valleys, the forest vegetation in Qiushan is well preserved, and large areas of natural secondary forests remain intact, forming a mountain woodland area of over 10,000 mu. The vegetation coverage on the scenic mountain slopes exceeds 95%, and within half of the area, forest canopy density reaches 98%. The Qiushan Scenic Area features a wide variety of resources, including many natural landscapes of significant sightseeing, scientific, and historical-cultural value — such as the Sky Great Wall, Qiufeng Sea of Clouds, Pine Peaks and Emerald Snow, Five Waterfalls in Crimson Flow, Qing Lake, Qiushan Root, Qiushan Flower Sea, and the Ancient Battlefield of Qiushan — which have become some of its major highlights. It has become one of the most influential tourist destinations in Hebei.
