Qingliang Bay Wetland Park

Qingliang Bay Park is located beside the Pingshe Highway in the northern part of Jingxing Mining District, Shijiazhuang City. The park opened on September 27, 2009. Jingxing Mining District is one of the earlier industrial mining areas in Shijiazhuang. For a long time, underground coal mining caused multiple surface collapses, forming pits or marshlands. Industrial wastewater flowed unchecked, and industrial waste piled up into mountains due to the inability to transport it away. To improve the geological environment and the living and working conditions, from 2007 to the present, the district government has invested a total of 16 million yuan in comprehensive ecological remediation, and the construction of “Qingliang Bay Wetland Park” has been listed as a key project.

Centered around the four major themes of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, the park has paved 3,200 meters of pathways, completed water system projects and other supporting facilities. It now features six scenic areas: the Protective Ecological Forest Area, Tianci Lake Scenic Area, Rural Landscape Area, Wetland Scenic Area, Main Entrance Tourist Area, and Children’s Play Area. It has become a lush, blue-water-and-blue-sky ecological paradise full of charm and serenity, providing residents in the mining area and nearby a modern eco-cultural activity space integrating leisure, entertainment, sightseeing, and fitness.

Wetlands, along with forests and oceans, are known as one of the world’s three major ecosystems and an important component of the Earth’s ecological environment. They are among the most dynamic ecosystems. Wetlands have powerful ecological purification capabilities and are hailed as the “kidneys of the Earth.” In recent years, protection of wetlands has received significant attention at the national, provincial, and municipal levels. The construction of Qingliang Bay Wetland Park fills a gap in wetland parks not only in the mining district but also in Shijiazhuang City, making it of considerable importance and breakthrough significance.
