Shijiazhuang Friendship Park

Friendship Park was first built in the spring of 1990, with its first phase completed by National Day of the same year. The park covers an area of 2.47 hectares, with over 90% of its green spaces planted with more than 20 varieties of grasses and flowers. In 1993, it was transformed into a rose garden, focusing mainly on growing roses. The garden features over 80 varieties of roses. In 1997, the park underwent large-scale green space renovation, planting over 20 varieties of bamboo and more than 30,000 bamboo plants. Bamboo pavilions and corridors were constructed, and poetic stone arrangements were added, along with signs identifying different bamboo species. Gradually, the park developed a distinctive bamboo garden theme, providing a great leisure spot for local residents.

In 2003, the west and north gates and plaza of the park were renovated, increasing the park's area to 2.6 hectares and the green coverage rate to 75%. The landscaping emphasizes plant arrangements that highlight the charm of the bamboo garden. The park’s perimeter wall was replaced with transparent iron railings, allowing visitors to enjoy the swaying green bamboo. An open-air swimming pool was also added, offering a convenient place for visitors to cool off and exercise in the summer. The park receives over 300,000 visitors annually.
