Zhengding Science and Technology Museum

Zhengding Science and Technology Museum serves as a base for science education.

Hebei Zhengding Science and Technology Museum is one of the largest comprehensive science museums in China. It is located at No. 65 Xingrong Road, Zhengding County, Hebei Province. Established in May 2000, it covers an area of 18,000 square meters, with over 11,000 square meters of exhibition space and more than 10,000 exhibits. With the support of Party committees and governments at all levels, and under the backing of various science and technology departments, after nine years of development, it has grown into an extensive national science education complex consisting of eleven exhibition halls and fifteen display zones. It integrates a science museum, natural history museum, folklore museum, planetarium, weather station, seismological observatory, civil air defense education, and sports facilities.

In 2005, it was designated as a National Science Education Base by the China Association for Science and Technology. In 2006, it pioneered the establishment of a science outreach fleet in China, equipped with a mobile science exhibition van, a vehicle-mounted observatory, a mobile planetarium, and 40 sets of various science education display boards. The museum develops over 100 new science exhibits each year and is also responsible for the Science Outreach to Rural Areas program in Hebei Province, making it a dynamic force in the field of science communication across the province.
