Shijiazhuang Modern Agriculture Sightseeing Park

The Shijiazhuang Modern Agriculture Industry Sightseeing Park is located to the north of Xiaofeng Village, Gangshang Town, Gaocheng City. It stretches from the Shijiazhuang Civil Aviation Airport Road in the east to the boundary of Chang’an District in the west, from the Shihuang Expressway in the south to the new southern embankment riverside avenue of the Hutuo River in the north. It is close to National Highway 307 and Xinzhao Line, about 10 kilometers from downtown Shijiazhuang, and is a key project within the 40-square-kilometer eastern leisure resort area of the provincial capital. With an estimated total investment of 500 million yuan, the Shijiazhuang Modern Agriculture Sightseeing Park is a comprehensive modern agricultural demonstration project integrating functions such as modern agricultural production demonstration, eco-agricultural tourism, agricultural science education and promotion, agricultural product exhibition and sales, and eco-leisure vacations. Construction began in August 2010. According to reports, the park opened for trial operations on November 1, 2010.

As of September 2010, nearly 3,000 acres of the project had been completed or were under construction. The overall plan was developed by China Agricultural University. Designed according to the principles of “integrating with new rural development, enhancing the level of agricultural industrialization, improving the ecological environment, and expanding employment and increasing farmers’ income,” and with the goal of creating a 4A-level agricultural tourism attraction, the park aims to become a high-standard, well-known agricultural sightseeing destination. It includes “four centers”: a factory seedling breeding and rapid propagation center, a science and technology training center, a fruit and vegetable preservation, storage, processing and distribution center, and an agricultural product logistics center; “two functional areas”: a core exhibition area and a garden landscape leisure service area; and “two bases”: a pollution-free vegetable standardized production demonstration base and a pollution-free specialty fruit standardized production base.

The Shijiazhuang Modern Agriculture Sightseeing Park project is being developed in three phases: the initial phase, the core phase, and the expansion phase. The focus is on constructing the 220-acre initial phase of the sightseeing park, which mainly includes a 20,000-square-meter Four Seasons Garden (featuring flowers, fruits, vegetables, and melons), and a 10,000-square-meter ecological restaurant. The park is designed to become a top-tier, high-standard modern agriculture sightseeing destination in the province, integrating agricultural production, technological innovation, achievement demonstration, leisure sightseeing, eco-tourism, and science education.

Public Transport: From downtown Shijiazhuang, take bus 536 from Tanggu Station directly to the sightseeing park (terminal stop).

Self-Drive Route: Enter Shijiazhuang, take Heping Road eastward out of the city, then continue east along National Highway 307. Turn left onto the Airport Road and drive north for about 10 minutes to reach the park.
