The Hebei Folk Museum is a patriotic education base.

The Hebei Folk Museum is the only provincial-level thematic museum of folk culture in Hebei Province. Its main tasks include collecting ancient and modern folk cultural relics and materials, conducting scientific research, organizing exhibitions, and promoting traditional culture. It is a public welfare institution that provides ideological, moral, local knowledge, and patriotic education to the general public. Established in June 1998, the museum officially opened to the public on October 22, 1999. In the same year, it was designated as part of the second batch of Hebei Provincial Patriotic Education Bases by the Hebei Provincial Committee and Government. In 2009, it obtained the qualification of a National Second-Class Museum. In 2008, the “Hebei Arts and Crafts Art Museum” was added and established.

The main building of the Hebei Folk Museum is a garden-style structure modeled after Qing Dynasty architecture, featuring an elegant, simple, and unadorned style. The total construction area exceeds 5,000 square meters, including six exhibition halls covering over 2,000 square meters, as well as storage rooms for cultural relics and office buildings. The landscaping within the museum complex blends seamlessly with the architecture, providing visitors with a pleasant and comfortable environment. The museum houses a collection of 93,192 cultural relics, including 50,657 ancient relics and 42,535 contemporary traditional arts and crafts masterpieces.

The museum has four permanent exhibitions: “Collection of Folk Fan Paintings,” “Art of Wuqiang New Year Paintings,” “Qing Dynasty Furniture Displays,” and “Famous Blue-Green Craft Treasures.” Based on a large number of folk cultural relics and photographs, these exhibitions use modern technological methods to vividly showcase the folk customs of the Yan-Zhao region, serving as a window for people to understand Hebei. Additionally, several distinctive temporary exhibitions have been held to meet the public's demand for more scientific and cultural knowledge.
