Shijiazhuang People's Square

People's Square is located in the city center of Shijiazhuang, bordered by Zhongshan Road to the south and adjacent to Chang'an Park to the north. It is a large urban central garden-style square, comprehensively designed and renovated on the basis of the former Yi Gong Square and Chang'an Park. The square covers an area of 12.22 hectares and was opened to the public on November 1, 2001.

The overall design of the square follows the guiding principle of "people-oriented, green-focused," fully reflecting a harmonious blend of garden within the square and square within the garden. It combines the grandeur of modern urban landscapes with the charm of natural landscape gardens. The layout is ingenious, integrating the square and gardens into one cohesive space. The square serves multiple functions, including sightseeing, recreation, culture, ecology, and disaster shelter, and effectively showcases the characteristics of an urban ecological garden.

The central axis main square extends 270 meters from north to south and 100 meters from east to west. From south to north, it comprises scenic spots such as the Chairman Mao Statue Square, the Running Fountain, the Musical Fountain, the Cascading Water Feature, and the Green Forest Plaza. Underground service facilities spanning 17,000 square meters will cater to exhibitions, shopping, and dining needs. The green spaces on the east and west sides utilize modern landscaping concepts to mimic natural ecosystems, creating four major scenic areas: Urban Mountains and Waters, Dexin Garden, Green Shade Zone, and Azure Wave and Emerald Isle. These are accentuated by features such as the Lanshu Pavilion, Wentao Pavilion, Shuang Pavilion, and artistic landscape walls. The interplay of flowers, plants, trees, thematic sculptures, and various lighting elements forms a vibrant, modern-day tableau.
