Qianjiadong National Forest Park is a national-level forest park.

Qianjiadong Forest Park is located in the Gaoyuan Forest Farm of Jiangyong County, Hunan Province, with a planned total area of 4,430.93 hectares. It preserves a relatively intact low-altitude evergreen broad-leaved forest: starting from an elevation as low as 300 meters, Qianjiadong Forest Park still maintains a well-preserved low-altitude valley evergreen broad-leaved forest, largely in its primitive state. Moreover, it has a large area of virgin forest with extremely rich plant resources: according to surveys, the area contains 3,361.64 hectares of natural forest, accounting for 75.87% of the total area, including 835.67 hectares of virgin forest and 2,525.97 hectares of secondary forest. There are a total of 1,637 plant species belonging to 692 genera and 185 families.

Qianjiadong Forest Park is situated in the Dupang Mountain Range, one of the Five Ridges, with its highest peak, Tianmenling, reaching an elevation of 1,803.9 meters. The area features competing peaks, crisscrossing valleys, steep slopes, and rapid streams. Standing atop the peaks, visitors enjoy a commanding view of the surrounding landscape, taking in all the major and minor scenic spots. Guzhai Lake (reservoir) presents picturesque scenery of lake and mountain. Within Qianjiadong Forest Park lies Guzhai Lake, covering a water surface of 186.48 hectares. The lake resembles a coiling auspicious dragon, winding and shimmering gracefully, with its emerald-clear waters embedded like a piece of jade among the mountains. Dappled ripples on the lake surface are tucked within layers of lush greenery. Drifting on a small boat across the lake feels like being in a painting.

It is home to 1,637 plant species belonging to 692 genera and 185 families of vascular plants, accounting for 37.86% of the province’s total of 4,324 species; there are also 226 species of wild vertebrates, making up 37.05% of the province’s 610 species. Among them, there are 38 species of nationally protected plants and 21 species of nationally protected animals, making it a veritable kingdom of wildlife resources and one of the most abundant parks in terms of wildlife among the province’s established forest parks. The area hosts communities of Southern Yew, Southern Hemlock, Taiwan Hemlock, Fujian Cypress, Nanmu, Burmese Rosewood, Manglietia, and Camphor trees, covering a total area of 110 hectares, about 2.5% of the entire park—such large areas of rare plant communities are extremely rare, even unique, among established parks in Hunan.

Qianjiadong Forest Park has Guzhai Lake (reservoir), covering a water surface of 186.48 hectares with a storage capacity of 40.08 million cubic meters, classifying it as a medium-sized reservoir. Most forest parks in our province are built upon existing state-owned forest farms, which are often "hat forest farms" with few large or medium-sized reservoirs on the mountains. Forest parks like Qianjiadong, which possess both pristine natural forests and expansive water surfaces, are extremely rare not just in our province, but nationwide.
