The Battlefield Ruins of the Red Army is a classic site of red tourism.

In November 1934, during the Long March, the Red Army passed through Yongming (now Jiangyong). The puppet county government, in an attempt to prevent the Red Army from advancing north to resist Japan, built 18 blockhouses within its jurisdiction. On November 27–28 of that year, the vanguard of the Ninth Red Army Corps set out from Luoping in Jianghua and arrived at Wazha Bay near the southeastern part of the park for encampment. At this time, Chiang Kai-shek urgently mobilized Guangxi troops to intercept them. The Red Army engaged in fierce fighting with the Guangxi forces in the area from Shanggaoling and Daluping inside the park to Sanfeng Mountain outside the park. After more than four hours of bloody battle, they defeated the Guangxi troops. After the battle, the Red Army carved eight large characters on the cliff of Sanfeng Mountain using bayonets and hammers: “Long Live the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army.”
