The Galaxy Cave Scenic Area is located in Pingshan County, Shijiazhuang City. It is 80 kilometers from the provincial capital Shijiazhuang, 37 kilometers from the Xibaipo Scenic Area, and 2.5 kilometers from the Tiankuishan Scenic Area. Covering an area of 50 square kilometers, the area features typical karst landforms with towering peaks reaching into the clouds, lush vegetation, and a diverse range of landscapes including mountains, springs, forests, caves, and bridges. The scenery is rich and varied, spectacular and beautiful. The entire scenic area is distinguished by its naturally miraculous landscapes and serene, pristine natural beauty.

This scenic area boasts an extraordinary collection of wonders, many of which are rarely seen in the world. According to research, the main attraction, Galaxy Cave, was originally a massive underground river from the Cambrian period, over 500 million years ago. One million years ago, tectonic uplift raised it more than 1,000 meters above sea level, forming the cave through a unique process that differs significantly from other karst caves—making it extremely rare and representative in China. The cave stretches over 2,000 meters in length, with chambers within chambers and caves beneath caves, presenting a grand and magnificent structure. The domed ceiling resembles a star-studded sky, while inside you’ll find high mountains and valleys, hanging bridges and waterfalls, sandy beaches and pools, as well as countless uniquely shaped formations. The cave features ten major sights such as "Galaxy Falling from the Sky" and "Starry Expanse Beyond the Heavens," encompassing over 50 scenic spots. In addition, the area also contains other distinctive caves such as Immortal Cave and Yellow Dragon Cave.

The only ancient-style cliffside sightseeing tower in China stands over 100 meters tall, soaring into the sky and offering a majestic sight. An elevator inside allows visitors to enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape during the ascent and descent. The grand Hulugou Hundred-Meter Waterfall cascades from the cliffs like a torrent of pearls and jade, creating rainbows in the sunlight. The deep and mysterious Galaxy Cave is an underground erosional cave, maintaining a constant temperature of 14°C year-round. With a depth of over 2,000 meters, it serves as a rare underground museum. The delicate and exquisite Pearl Cave is covered in various stalactites in countless forms. The enigmatic Stone People Valley features oddly shaped rocks and flowing springs, offering a refreshing experience. The Madiwawa Grassland is covered in rare flowers and plants, stretching endlessly toward the blue sky and white clouds. The thrilling Great Sky Bridge spans 180 meters in length and 160 meters in height, connecting two cliff peaks. From afar, it resembles a heavenly gate surrounded by drifting clouds and rosy clouds, brimming with wonder.

The scenic area features high mountains, deep valleys, and lush vegetation. With pleasant scenery all year round, visitors can admire peach blossoms in spring, escape the heat in summer, appreciate the red leaves in autumn, and enjoy snowscapes and ice waterfalls in winter—offering a truly immersive return to nature.

By Bus: Take a direct bus from Shijiazhuang North Railway Station to the scenic area (two departures daily, in the morning and afternoon)

By Car: Shijiazhuang – Pingshan – Wentang – Guyue (turn south, i.e., left) – Beiyeh – Tiankuishan – Galaxy Cave
