Luquan Xiaobi Forest Farm

The Xiaobi Protective Forest Area in Shijiazhuang is located on the southern bank of the Fuyang River, approximately 3.5 kilometers downstream from Huangbizhuang Reservoir in the northwest of Shijiazhuang City, about 25 kilometers from the city center. It was artificially afforested in the early 1960s. The forest area borders the three cities and counties of Luquan, Zhengding, and Lingshou, and currently covers a total area of over 10,000 mu.

The forest area is bordered to the north by the Fuyang River, where the year-round flowing water, combined with the expansive woodland, creates a unique microclimate. The temperature here is consistently 3–5 degrees lower than in the urban area, making it highly suitable for raptors and other bird species. According to surveys, there are approximately 100 main types of birds inhabiting the forest. Today, water, grass, trees, and birds form a well-balanced ecological environment in the area. In 1998, the municipal government designated Xiaobi Forest as an official voluntary tree-planting base. Currently, voluntary tree planting and conservation activities are carried out during spring, summer, and autumn. Based on the natural conditions of the forest, the Municipal Gardening Bureau has planned to develop Xiaobi Forest into a sand plant science education park that integrates protective functions, ecological protection demonstration, and environmental education.
