Yongtong Bridge Park

Yongtong Bridge Park is located between the west gate and Xiguan of Zhao County. It is built around the Yongtong Bridge, a national key cultural relics protection unit. The overall planned area covers 15.8 hectares, with the first phase occupying 5.4 hectares. After two years of meticulous design and construction, the first phase was completed and opened to the public in July 2009.

The planning and design of Yongtong Bridge Park highlight the concept of preserving the cultural heritage of the ancient city, emphasizing ecological protection, and organically integrating cultural landscapes with natural scenery. The park design takes water as its highlight and focuses on cultural and leisure functions, mainly divided into three scenic areas.

I. Bridge Culture Square Area. This area is adjacent to Yongtong Road and features mainly cultural landscapes. Centered around Yongtong Bridge and complemented by artistic stone carvings and cultural relic displays, it showcases the culture of Zhaozhou and the essence of ancient Zhao.

II. Water Recreation Area. This area repurposes the original Fubo Pond and [illegible characters], creating a vibrant waterscape. It features redesigned landforms and rich vegetation, offering visitors a cool and refreshing experience. The area also includes model landscapes where visitors can appreciate the unique charm of the “horse neighing at the moon” scene.

III. Forest Leisure and Fitness Area. Located in the northeast part of the park, this area is densely planted with trees and shrubs, with flower stands and lawns complementing each other. A variety of fitness and recreational facilities are set up here for visitors to rest, exercise, and enjoy leisure activities.
