Tomb of the Han Dynasty at Xujiaguo

The Tomb of the Han Dynasty at Xujiaguo is a cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.

The Tomb of the Han Dynasty at Xujiaguo, originally called "General Lian Po’s Tomb," is located 200 meters north of Xujiaguo Village and east of Yangjiaguo Village in Zhao County. The tomb mound stands 7.5 meters high, stretches 60 meters from north to south, and is 50 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of approximately 3,000 square meters.

The earthen part of the tomb mound is relatively intact, with limited erosion or damage. On the southern slope of the mound, the remains of two broken stone turtle pedestals can be found. Legend has it that these were bases for steles erected by local officials during the Ming and Qing dynasties for "General Lian Po’s Tomb," but the steles themselves have been lost. Judging from the artifacts unearthed from the ancient tomb, they belong to the Western Han Dynasty burial objects, indicating that the "General Lian Po’s Tomb" is clearly a misnomer. Later examinations identified it as a large-scale Western Han Dynasty tomb, and the tomb owner was likely a high-ranking military official of considerable status. Though the tomb is tall and covers a vast area, and has suffered looting, it still holds significant historical, artistic, and cultural value. In 1993, it was designated as a key cultural relic protection unit of Hebei Province.
